MashaAllah congratulations to the class of 2020 for their hard work and efforts, and a big well done and thank you to all staff and parents for their tireless hard work, support and dua’s. This Year 11 class has pushed on through difficult circumstances, but their hard work has been recognised and they have achieved excellent results, alhamdulillah.
Summer 2020 was the first national lockdown due to Covid-19. Instead of formal GCSE grades awarded by exam boards followed by comparative School performance tables put together by the DfE (Department for Education), Centre’s awarded Centre Assessment Grades (CAGs). CAGs had to be backed up by supporting evidence, and exam boards reviewed grades – and sometimes amended them – before finalising them. The class of 2020 Year 11’s continued their GCSE studies in difficult circumstances and the wonderful staff continued to run the School remotely to try and ensure that our girls were still being educated.
MashaAllah, our pupils were awarded grades which recognised their outstanding work at that stage in their studies. The internal School process was robust and evidence-based, with grades awarded in different subjects independently. Alhamdlulillah, exam boards agreed with our process and grading, and none of our grades were reduced by the exam boards after their external quality assurance process.
All of our pupils achieved 5 or more grades at grade 6 and above, resulting in a 100% higher pass rate. Additionallu, 53% of all grades achieved were grades 7-9.
We pray that our pupils continue their A-level studies with the same hard work and Allah (SWT) continue to give them success. We also pray that Allah (SWT) blesses us and gives us the ability to continue providing a quality education, and the School goes from strength to strength InshaAllah.
