Islam is a complete way of life. Evidence can be seen in the lives of Muslims throughout history who were scientists, doctors, researchers and inventors as well as being knowledgeable in the deen. We teach the National curriculum with an extended selection of religious subjects and teach that one of these strands of education does not have to be sacrificed at the expense of the other, but both work together beautifully for a greater understanding of Alllah (SWT)’s creation.
Our primary focus is not on achievement of certain grades, but on enabling each pupil to recognize their potential, to broaden their horizons, to develop a love of learning, and to then make progress and fulfill their individual potential.
In addition, an education at Al-Burhan is not only about a traditional academic education. It is about developing the relationship each pupil has with their faith. Islam is a way of life, and so our provision of Islamic education includes the day to day knowledge needed to live as a Muslim, as well as the social, moral and spiritual understanding and habits needed to be a well-rounded, confident and productive member of society.
